Isabelle's Natural Sculptures
About The Artist

Isabelle Merl is an artist who lives in Montgomery County, Maryland, near Washington, D.C.  While she has always had an interest in Art, after graduating from college, Isabelle focused her attention on raising a family.

It wasn't until after her children were grown that she began to concentrate on her artistic talents full time. She has been actively involved in various types of artwork since the mid 1970s.

In the early 1980's, Isabelle developed a sculpture technique using Natural Materials to create Wildlife Images. To date she has made over 100 life-like sculptures depicting many varieties of Birds, Animals, and Plant Wildlife. No two sculptures are the same.

Consequently, her artwork is all Unique. She enjoys the challenges involved in creating each new sculpture and attempts to recreate her Wildlife subjects as accurately as possible.

Isabelle is also an avid painter, working primarily with watercolors and pastels and utilizing an Impressionistic style for her scenes and portraits.

She has received many awards for her sculptures and paintings. Isabelle has had her sculptures exhibited at both McCrillis Gardens and Strathmore Hall in suburban Washington, D.C.

She was one of only 44 artists chosen to exhibit one of her paintings at the Maryland State House in Annapolis, MD in 1998. She was also chosen to exhibit at Johns Hopkins University in 1998.
